Description

JOB SCOPE:

 

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Senior Human Resource Generalist will lead and oversee a wide range of HR functions to support organizational goals and drive employee engagement, performance, and retention, while ensuring actions and outcomes are aligned with Postgraduate Center for Mental Health’s mission, values, and strategic plan. This role is responsible for the strategic and operational management of key areas, including employee relations, compliance, onboarding, leaves administration, HR systems, and data management. The HR Manager serves as a key advisor to managers and staff, ensuring that HR policies, procedures, and practices are applied effectively and consistently throughout the organization.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage and maintain employee records and personnel files in compliance with applicable laws and agency policies.
  • Oversee pre-employment process, including I-9 verification, reference checks, and licensing verification
  • Ensure organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Administer and monitor compliance programs such as FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation, and other leaves of absence.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR-related concerns, resolving workplace conflicts, and promoting a positive organizational culture.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, recognition, and retention.
  • Assist with investigations and recommend resolutions in cases involving policy violations, grievances, or disciplinary actions.
  • Oversee the accuracy and integrity of data within the HRIS (Paycom), including system updates, reporting, and analytics.
  • Generate and analyze reports (e.g., turnover, salary trends, attendance) to support data-driven HR decisions.
  • Work with Paycom support to resolve technical issues and implement system improvements.
  • Supervise HR team member and support their professional development.
  •  Assist the Director of Human Resources in developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with the agency's goals.
  •  Review and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook in accordance with legal and operational requirements.
  •  Lead or support special projects assigned, including audits, accreditation prep, and organizational initiatives.
  •  Participates in meetings, seminars, webinars, etc. to stay current on employment laws and HR best practices.
  •  Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

  • Microsoft Office- Word, Excel
  • Paycom

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  •  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of HR experience, preferably in a multi-location environment.
  •  Working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Local laws and regulations related to the Human Resources function including, but not limited to, FLSA, ADA, and FMLA
  • Demonstrated commitment to the HR function.
