SUMMARY
The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) is a key strategic advisor who aligns HR initiatives with Arete’s business goals. This highly visible, in-office role supports HR strategy, organizational development, compensation, and performance management, while also serving as a coach and mentor within the department. Acting as the HR lead for HQ, the Sr. HRBP partners with senior leadership to drive employee engagement, manage HR projects, and foster a strong, inclusive culture through a hands-on, people-first approach.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acts as a culture champion by modeling company values, embedding them into daily operations, and coaching leaders to maintain a healthy, high-performance workplace

  • Leads initiatives that promote employee engagement, inclusion, and a positive workplace experience, including in-office events, surveys, and exit interviews

  • Provides strategic and operational HR support on hiring, internal transfers, organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning

  • Offers guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and performance management, including coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions

  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues, ensuring fair investigations and outcomes that align with company values and legal compliance

  • Oversees HR compliance efforts, including policy development, handbook maintenance, and collaboration with legal counsel to ensure alignment with federal, state, and local employment laws

  • Analyzes HR trends and metrics to develop data-informed solutions, training programs, and policy improvements

  • Supports compensation strategy and implementation, including bonuses, merit increases, and education around total rewards

  • Plays a primary role in coaching and mentoring junior team members

  • Maintains accurate and compliant employee records and documentation in accordance with best practices and applicable regulations

  • Continuously evaluates HR practices to improve the employee experience and support organizational goals

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s Human Capital Management (HCM) system

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources or related business field and 8+ years of experience in progressively responsible human resource roles including resolving complex employee relations matters, or a Master's Degree and 6+ years related experience

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with Arete salary and benefit policy.

FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY
Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
