Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the daily functions of the HR department including interviewing, hiring, benefits, leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
• Serves as mentor to other HR staff
• Is lead when HR Manager and VP of HR are not available
• Assists with write-ups, terminations, and investigations
• Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
• Reviews and updates employee timecards
• Assists with benefit administration
• Assists with temporary staffing process
• Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals
• Processes bi-weekly wellness, childcare, and Sam’s/Costco reimbursements for payroll
• Payroll processing
• Compliance
• New Hire On-Boarding for salary
• Prepare offer letters and separation letters
• Provides suggested employee handbook updates to HR Leadership
• Assists with the planning of employee outings/events, and recognition programs
• Coordinates employee training as needed
• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
• Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university with two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Language skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public group, and/or boards of directors.
• Mathematical skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
• Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of information.
• Computer skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
