Work Schedule Comments: Typically, Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Position Overview: The Senior Human Resources Generalist serves as a strategic and operational HR partner responsible for onboarding, benefits, compliance, and serving as ad hoc Leader in all facets of HR across the organization. This role assists with leadership to ensure all employment actions are consistent, legally compliant, and aligned with company policy and labor law. The position will provide HR services to IMC operations reporting to the Senior Vice President of People Strategies and Human Resources. 


Essential Job Functions:

    Support benefits, and HRIS functions tactically and strategically, including ADP access and data entry, and benefit eligibility and information inquiries

    Support recruitment, promotions, and internal transfers by preparing job descriptions, promotion letters, and employment-related documentation and the associated onboarding data entry. Assists with providing trending and forecasting

    Serve as a backup when needed to support and to guide other HR team members, management, and staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodation, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations

    Assist with the analysis of local trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent

    Support learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees when needed

    Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, required training, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance

    Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law

    Work as a team player and be able to assist in any area of Human Resources without issue

    Perform special projects and other duties as assigned


Skills/Abilities: 

    Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations outside of Tennessee

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills

    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

    Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

    Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS/Payroll and related systems


Education and Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred

    Minimum five (5) years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations, compliance, and leave administration

    Demonstrated experience as an HR professional with the ability to pivot and to assist as needed
