We are seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to serve as a strategic and hands-on HR partner, with a strong emphasis on employee relations and full-cycle recruitment. About the Role

The Senior Human Resources Generalist supports business objectives by delivering comprehensive HR services across the employee lifecycle, with primary responsibility for:

  • Employee relations and workplace investigations

  • Full-cycle recruitment across multiple states

  • HR compliance and policy application

  • Manager coaching and employee guidance

This role operates with a high level of independence and judgment and is critical to maintaining compliance, reducing risk, and fostering positive employee experiences across a multi-state workforce.

Key Responsibilities (HR Generalist / HR Business Partner)

Employee Relations & Investigations

  • Independently manage employee relations matters from intake through resolution

  • Conduct workplace investigations involving misconduct, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and policy violations

  • Perform fact-finding, documentation, risk analysis, and recommendations using sound judgment

  • Determine when to engage external employment counsel in partnership with HR leadership

  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on corrective action, performance management, and workplace conduct

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for assigned roles across multiple states

  • Partner with hiring managers on workforce planning, job design, and compliant job descriptions

  • Develop and execute effective sourcing and selection strategies

  • Coordinate interviews, offers, and onboarding in support of growth and acquisitions

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure consistent and compliant application of employment policies across jurisdictions

  • Support compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and applicable state/local laws

  • Maintain accurate, confidential HR records and documentation

  • Support onboarding, employee lifecycle changes, performance review cycles, and leaves of absence

  • Assist with benefits administration, payroll coordination, and employee communications

Organizational Support & Growth

  • Support HR due diligence and integration for acquisitions

  • Contribute to HR policy development and continuous process improvement

  • Participate in HR audits, compliance reviews, and special projects

  • Monitor employment law developments affecting a multi-state workforce



Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

Required

  • PHR or SPHR certification (HRCI)

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience

  • Proven experience independently handling employee relations matters and investigations

  • Experience supporting a multi-state workforce and applying employment laws across jurisdictions

Core Skills & Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, recruitment, compliance, performance management, and benefits

  • Deep working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws

  • Excellent interviewing, investigative, and documentation skills

  • Ability to analyze risk and make defensible, legally sound recommendations

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities

  • Proficiency with HRIS, ATS platforms, and office software

  • Ability to build trust and credibility at all organizational levels

Preferred (but not required):

  • Experience in a growing or acquisitive organization

  • Experience partnering with employment counsel

  • Broader exposure to HR operations and benefits administration

Work Environment

This position is performed primarily in a professional office or hybrid environment. The role regularly uses standard office equipment and may require occasional travel to support recruiting, investigations, or acquisition activities. No routine exposure to extreme environmental conditions is expected.
