Work as a collaborative member of the Human Resources department in a rapidly changing, complex, and fast-paced environment. Serves as the first-line human resources business partner within the assigned geographic region for HR-related matters with the goal of aligning HR best practices to business strategies.

Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job 

  • Provide proactive leadership and guidance on interpretation of human resource policy to ensure consistency of practice throughout the Consortium. 

  • Work with human resources staff and department leadership to ensure compliance with applicable laws. 

  • Consult with leadership team to provide human resource guidance and navigation on departmental and organizational issues when appropriate. 

  • Conduct effective, thorough, and objective fact-finding investigations, where appropriate, to help achieve closure on employee relations issues. 

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and support to department leadership regarding performance management, to include coaching, counseling, employee development and corrective action as . 

  • Work closely with departmental leadership and employees to foster positive working relationships, and to increase employee engagement and retention. 

  • Ensure fair treatment and implementation of SEARHC human resource policies for all staff.  

  • Partner with the Learning & Development staff members to help facilitate and/or provide training/education for all staff (which may include onboarding activities, customer service and/or supervisory training). 

  • Assess and anticipate departmental and organizational human resource-related needs.  

  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to foster continuous improvements in efficiency and effectiveness of human resource department process and services provided. 

  • Serve as a human resource department team member, working together to achieve both human resources and Consortium strategic initiatives.  

  • Other related duties as and assigned. 

Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Sociology, or related field . 

  • Relevant professional experience may be substituted for degree/education on a year-for-year basis. 

  • Work towards obtaining a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) from the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) preferred; PHR or an equivalent certification is desired within 3 years of date of hire. 

Experience Required 

  • 3-5 years of human resources experience, preferably in a healthcare environment. 

  • Relevant education may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

  • Be flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels, a team player with the human resources department and the consortium. 

  • Independently troubleshoot and problem-solve issues using a working knowledge of current policies and practices of the consortium. 

  • Research, analyze, and resolve allegations, summarize the results, and prepare documents for review.
