Located in Redmond, 1stMILE is a financial technology company that delivers a consumer driven commerce platform connecting consumers, their cars, and repair shops, streamlining commerce. 

We are looking for a Sr. Accountant who will be responsible for the accurate and timely calculation, reporting, and administration of employee wages, taxes, benefits, and deductions. General Ledger Management:

    • Assist in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger by preparing and posting journal entries, accurately classify transactions and perform account reconciliations.
    • Support month-end and year-end close processes by reviewing trial balances, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely reporting.
    • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
    • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliation to ensure all cash transactions are accurately recorded.

 

Payroll Processing, Reporting, and Administration:

    • Accurately calculate employee wages, taxes, benefits, and deductions.
    • Prepare and submit semi-monthly payroll reports and year-end W-2s.
    • Ensure compliance with federal and local agencies.

 

Sales Commission Calculation:

    • Utilize Excel to fill out information, volumes, and formulas for sales commission calculations.
    • Audit commission sheets to ensure proper percentages are applied based on different compensation plans per sales team.
    • Populate and distribute individual commission sheets to team members for review and make necessary corrections.

 

Compensation Management:

    • Utilize salary subscription data to create and update position salaries annually or as needed.
    • Compile annual salary data and present it to the owners and VPs for approval.
    • Distribute approved compensation schedules to managers and Team Resources.
    • Ensure pay increases are documented and approved before notifying team members.
    • Maintain and update compensation spreadsheets and HRIS data.
    • Ensure compliance with federal and local agencies.

 

Recruiting Support:

    • Work closely with the Team Resources to review open positions and manage candidate status within the HRIS/ATS.
    • Recruit based on 1stMILE Stages and maintain tracking spreadsheets
    • Document candidate responses using phone screen templates.
    • Communicate results with hiring managers and schedule follow-up interviews.
    • Provide consistent recruiting support at least 2-3 days per week.

  • Excel Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, advanced formulas (SUMIFS, VLOOKUP, FILTER), and problem-solving abilities.
  • Math Knowledge: Strong understanding of advanced math concepts relevant to compensation and payroll calculations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members and leadership.
  • HRIS/ATS Experience: Familiarity with HRIS ATS systems and recruiting processes.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially in data management and documentation.
  • Experience: Previous experience in payroll processing, compensation management, and recruiting is preferred.
  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance

Physical characteristics— ability to sit, stand, bend, lift no more than 50lbs, talk, hear, type, read printed material, utilize a computer and professionally communicate over the telephone.
