Description

YRCI is seeking a full-time Sr. Human Resources (HR) Specialist, Employee Relations (ER), to support our client, located in Washinton DC.

  • Demonstrate a broad range of workforce relations expertise and work independently and initiate work; coordinate various programs within ER to include, but not limited to: Student Loan Repayment Program, Leave Programs (Advancements and LWOP), Telework and Alternative Work Schedule Program and the Awards Program.   
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide advice and assistance to, and collaborate with, agency leadership in the area of ER to include performance and discipline.
  • Provide guidance to managers and supervisors regarding handling of ER' issues to include performance, discipline, and action(s) to be taken; prepare required letters and documents.
  • Research and interpret policies on ER' issues to include; substance abuse, sexual harassment, changes in working conditions and schedules, leave requests and administration, and job-related stress.
  • Serve as a representative, or technical advisor, before appropriate formal judicial proceedings to include arbitration and administrative hearings; participate in settlement negotiations.

 



Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Five (5) years of progressive experience with Federal HR activities related to workforce/employee relations, labor relations, leave management, workplace flexibilities, worker’s compensation and employee benefits. 
  • Prior experience as an HR Specialist in the Executive or Legislative branch highly desired.
  • Bachelor's degree required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Labor Relations (LR), HR Management (HRM), or a closely related field is preferred.
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills and have the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Apply and interpret Federal HR laws, policies, and agency-specific operating procedures.
  • Attention to detail, data quality, and data integrity; excellent writing skills with specific attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills; flexibility with their approach to delivery of work.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the government-required security clearance.
