YRCI is seeking a full-time Sr. Human Resources (HR) Specialist, Employee Relations (ER), to support our client, located in Washinton DC.
Demonstrate a broad range of workforce relations expertise and work independently and initiate work; coordinate various programs within ER to include, but not limited to: Student Loan Repayment Program, Leave Programs (Advancements and LWOP), Telework and Alternative Work Schedule Program and the Awards Program.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide advice and assistance to, and collaborate with, agency leadership in the area of ER to include performance and discipline.
Provide guidance to managers and supervisors regarding handling of ER' issues to include performance, discipline, and action(s) to be taken; prepare required letters and documents.
Research and interpret policies on ER' issues to include; substance abuse, sexual harassment, changes in working conditions and schedules, leave requests and administration, and job-related stress.
Serve as a representative, or technical advisor, before appropriate formal judicial proceedings to include arbitration and administrative hearings; participate in settlement negotiations.
Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Five (5) years of progressive experience with Federal HR activities related to workforce/employee relations, labor relations, leave management, workplace flexibilities, worker’s compensation and employee benefits.
Prior experience as an HR Specialist in the Executive or Legislative branch highly desired.
Bachelor's degree required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Labor Relations (LR), HR Management (HRM), or a closely related field is preferred.
Must have exceptional organizational skills and have the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
Apply and interpret Federal HR laws, policies, and agency-specific operating procedures.
Attention to detail, data quality, and data integrity; excellent writing skills with specific attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills; flexibility with their approach to delivery of work.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the government-required security clearance.
