Job Summary

As the Senior Human Resources Generalist, you will play a key role in providing comprehensive support to the Human Resources function. This position supports the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing and conducting interviews, as well as managing the onboarding and offboarding of employees. The Senior HR Generalist plays an integral role in the day-to-day routine tasks in Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, Benefit Administration, and compliance.
Essential Job Functions
Talent Acquisition
- Facilitates recruitment life cycle activities to include intake sessions with hiring managers, creating job requisitions, external job posting on career sites, job description support, conducting pre-screens interviews & assessments, conducting professional reference checks and background checks.
- Coordinate all pre-hire activities with hiring manager, IT and Finance team.
- Partner with hiring managers and support the onboarding of employees by ensuring proper paperwork is completed and employee electronic records / Timesheets are setup properly in Paylocity.
- Provide onsite support for in-person panel interviews.
- Partner with Sr. Director, HR to assign workstations for DC Office.
- Conduct new hire orientation.
HR Operations
- Performs routine tasks required to support the HR function including but not limited to benefits, compensation, and leave; performance management; maintain electronic employee records in Paylocity and HR SharePoint.
- Provide guidance and process all leave of absence requests for employees.
- Assist bi-weekly payroll operations ensuring all Employee Acton Forms (EAF) are upload to Payroll share drive and pay actions are entered at the end of each pay period.
- Update payroll records by entering changes in employee statuses, rates of pay, leave accruals and deductions.
- Support the annual merit increase process by preparing salary adjustment memos and DC Wage notifications for all pay changes.
- Maintain the HR Share drive and update enterprise organizational chart.
- Coordinate offboarding for departing employees.
- Support the annual performance review cycle.
- Support employee relations / investigations and escalates to sr. director, human resources for appropriate resolution.
- Process monthly benefit invoices
- Support employment verifications as needed.
- Point of contact for Paylocity for all CLIA regions.
Benefits Administration
- Work with benefits broker to ensure proper enrollments/terminations of employee benefits and proper COBRA administration.
- Support the annual open enrollment process and communicate benefit changes to employees.
- Address employee inquiries related to benefits and ensure timely issue resolution.
- Coordinate annual 401(k) / financial education sessions with benefits broker.
- Process 401(k) terminations on vendor portal.
Misc.
- Compile data from HRIS and prepare ad hoc reports.
- Participate on the social committee and support workplace wellness quarterly activities.
- Support enterprise-wide HR projects as needed.
- Support the HR function by maintaining compliance with federal, multi-states, and local employment laws and regulations.

- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products with strong Excel skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma; Bachelors degree.
- 4+ years of job-related experience.
- Equivalent combination in education and experience
- HR and / or Payroll experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- SHRM certification preferred.
- Paylocity experience preferred.
Work Environment
- This position is based in our DC office as part of a hybrid work environment with 2-3 days in the office during the week.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Required Travel
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
