Overview: This position is responsible for assisting in the daily functions of the Human Resources department. The Senior HR Generalist will focus on a wide range of human resource functions including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance. This role will also assist with implementation of HR programs and policies that support the company’s ability to attract and retain the best talent and promote an engaged and collaborative employee-owned culture. This position is located on-site, in-person at our Savage, MN location.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support recruitment process including job postings, sourcing, interviews, and onboarding for open positions within the company.
- Works with leaders to develop short and long-range recruitment strategies to meet business needs now and in the future.
- Assist leaders with employee relations situations, address grievances, mediate conflicts and promote a positive environment and culture.
- Assists with oversight and daily administration of HR programs including but not limited to: benefit programs, retirement plans, medical, dental, leave of absence, COBRA, FMLA, Affirmative Action Programs and disability programs.
- Assists with providing timely and courteous responses to internal customers with questions, policy interpretation, problem resolution as well as enforcing and complying with all applicable policies, procedures and regulations.
- Assist in development and implementing performance management systems.
- Provide advanced HR Generalist support for overall HR Administration, payroll, benefits and Recruiting as needed.
- Assists with Leave administration for company.
- Work with school relationship development to support ongoing recruitment efforts.
- Assists with compliance with all state and federal laws pertaining to Human Resource matters including reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4-6 years advanced HR generalist experience.
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Thorough knowledge and experience of general HR practices and procedures and the interdependence between payroll, benefits, compensation, recruitment and HR functions in a business.
- Strong analytical abilities and ability to work independently to complete tasks thoroughly.
- Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential topics with tact and diplomacy.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Co-Pilot, PPT, Excel) and HRIS system (ADP preferred).
