WHAT WE ARE HUNGRY FOR
We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Training Manager
(GM Development) to lead and deliver our General Manager training program while
supporting broader training and development initiatives for our cafes and
support office teams. This individual will be based primarily in our support
office and serve as the primary facilitator for GM training, while also
creating training materials and resources to support learning across the
organization.
This is an individual contributor role ideal for someone
with cafe or retail leadership experience who is equally comfortable
facilitating in-person training and developing high-quality, practical training
content. The right candidate is a strong communicator, a natural coach, and a
resourceful content creator who thrives in a fast-paced, people-first
environment.
KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate and manage the GM training program at the
Training Center, ensuring new General Managers are equipped with the knowledge,
tools, and confidence to lead successfully.
- Manage training plans for corporate and support team new
hires and facilitate orientation sessions.
- Develop clear, effective training materials such as job
aids, facilitator guides, assessments, and supporting resources.
- Deliver engaging, hands-on training sessions and provide
coaching and feedback to participants.
- Support the Director of Training & Development with
needs assessments — help identify gaps and propose solutions that meet those
needs.
- Track training participation and outcomes; recommend
improvements to ensure training is relevant and impactful.
- Contribute to training communications, including
newsletters, updates, and follow-up materials.
- Translate our company’s mission, vision, and values into
compelling training content that inspires cafe teams and reinforces our
culture.
- Support other Training activities as needed when GM training
is not in session, including café operations training.
- Visit cafes, as needed, to observe operations, gather
insights, and ensure training materials address real-world challenges.
- Other duties may be assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of Retail/Restaurant experience with a
training component is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
Teams) required.
- Experience creating course materials, job aids, guides, and
assessment tools.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
- Strong writing and editing skills required.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to
effectively balance priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced,
ever-changing, and highly entrepreneurial environment.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to work collaboratively
across diverse teams.
- Passionate about empowering and developing others while
upholding brand standards.
