Job title: Vice President Human Resources

Location: St. Louis, MO (Hybrid - in office & work from home, with regular travel nationwide stores as needed)

Pay Range: $200,000- $240,000 annual base commensurate with experience, plus performance-based incentive plan

Key Responsibilities

As a retail organization we are truly a ‘people business’. The Vice President of Human Resources must bring a deep understanding of how a retail organization operates, including the direct connection between people, store execution, sales performance, and customer service. This leader will possess strong expertise in identifying, recruiting, and developing high-impact talent at all levels to drive revenue growth and elevate the customer experience. Success in this role requires the ability to translate business strategy into workforce capabilities that enable frontline excellence and sustained performance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute HR strategies that align with United Access’s mission and business goals.

  • Lead all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, learning and development, and compliance.

  • Build and nurture a culture of inclusivity, engagement, and high performance across all locations, with a focus in driving and supporting retail store performance.

  • Provide expert guidance and support to leaders and managers regarding workforce planning, team development, and employee relations.

  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to support our diverse customer base and workforce

  • Drive organizational effectiveness through process improvement, change management, and HR analytics.

  • Oversee employee onboarding and training to ensure all team members understand the needs and challenges of our clients.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Monitor and report on HR metrics, budgets, and employee engagement indicators.

  • Collaborate with the executive team to support business growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred

  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including managing HR teams and supporting multi-site operations

  • Experience in retail, automotive, healthcare, or similar industries with retail store locations is a plus, as understanding retail operations is critical.

  • Demonstrated success in talent management, employee engagement, legal compliance, and change management

  • Proficient in HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Understanding of the needs of individuals with disabilities is highly preferred
