The Vice President of Human Resources (VP, HR) will serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership and lead the full HR function across a growing, multi-state renewable energy organization. This executive will drive people strategy aligned with business growth, oversee HR operations, and build scalable infrastructure to support rapid expansion in development, construction, and operations.
The ideal candidate brings strong operational HR leadership experience within construction, energy, infrastructure, or similarly complex, project-based environments.
Develop and execute HR strategy aligned with SunEnergy1’s growth objectives.
Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team.
Lead workforce planning for development, EPC, and O&M functions.
Drive organizational design to support scalability and efficiency.
Oversee executive recruiting and succession planning.
Implement robust talent acquisition strategies for corporate and field roles.
Develop leadership development and high-potential programs.
Build performance management systems aligned with company goals.
Oversee payroll, benefits, HRIS, compensation strategy, and policy development.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Manage risk, employee relations, and workplace investigations.
Lead benefits strategy to ensure competitive and cost-effective offerings.
Foster a high-performance, accountable, and safety-focused culture.
Champion employee engagement initiatives.
Support change management initiatives across growth initiatives and acquisitions.
Strengthen internal communication and employer branding.
Develop compensation philosophy and incentive programs aligned with company performance.
Oversee executive compensation planning in partnership with finance and leadership.
Conduct market benchmarking to ensure competitiveness in renewable energy and construction markets.
15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including executive-level oversight.
Experience in renewable energy, construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or similar project-based environments strongly preferred.
Proven success building HR infrastructure in high-growth organizations.
Strong knowledge of multi-state employment law and compliance.
Demonstrated experience supporting field and corporate workforces.
Experience leading change management during periods of expansion.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or relevant HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
