We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Human Resources Manager to oversee HR operations across two well-established, non-union manufacturing facilities located in Maine and New Hampshire. This role will be based at a medium-sized manufacturing facility in the Greater Portland, ME area and will require quarterly travel to the smaller New Hampshire manufacturing site on a quarterly basis (~ 2 hours drive). The HR Manager will partner closely with site leadership to drive key HR initiatives, ensure compliance, and support a positive, high-performance workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities

Lead all HR functions with three direct reports across two manufacturing sites, including employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and compliance.

Serve as a trusted advisor to plant leadership on HR strategies, workforce planning, and organizational development
- Ensure compliance with federal, state (ME and NH), and local employment laws and regulations
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive workplace culture
- Oversee performance management processes, coaching managers on best practices
- Support training and development programs to enhance workforce capabilities
- Handle employee relations matters, conducting investigations and resolving issues effectively
- Maintain HR policies, procedures, and reporting systems
- Partner with leadership on compensation, benefits, and retention strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree (BS/BA) required, with a preference for HR, Business or related degree
- PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP certification strongly preferred
- 5+ years of experience at an HR Manager level, with a strong preference for experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Ability to travel as needed. Trips will include visits to the NH manufacturing site, other regional locations or corporate headquarters. Travel is required approximately six times per year.
Compensation Package/Benefits:
- $140,000 â $150,000
