Description


The Manager of Human Resources is a hands-on, high-impact role responsible for supporting and improving the employee experience across a field-based, operational environment. This position plays a key role in recruiting, employee engagement, and core HR processes that directly impact team performance and retention.


You will partner closely with managers across the organization to improve hiring outcomes, support employees, and ensure HR practices are consistent, practical, and effective.


This role reports to the CTO and works closely with leaders across the organization.


Key Responsibilities


Employee Engagement & Retention

  • Support employee engagement efforts to improve morale, productivity, and retention
  • Partner with managers to identify drivers of turnover and implement practical solutions
  • Lead or support employee feedback initiatives (surveys, stay interviews, etc.)
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers

Talent Acquisition & Employee Sourcing

  • Own and improve recruiting efforts for high-volume and skilled labor roles
  • Strengthen sourcing strategies to improve candidate flow and reduce time-to-fill
  • Partner with hiring managers to clarify role requirements and improve hiring consistency
  • Track and review hiring metrics to identify trends and opportunities

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Manage onboarding, employee relations, performance support, and offboarding processes
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
  • Support compensation and benefits administration
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems

Leadership Support & HR Execution

  • Provide day-to-day HR guidance and support to managers
  • Help implement HR initiatives that support operational needs and company growth
  • Promote consistency in HR practices across teams and locations
  • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline HR processes

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $105,000 – $115,000, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Bonus opportunity

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5–8+ years of HR experience, preferably in industrial, construction, manufacturing, or field-based environments
  • Experience hiring for high-volume or skilled labor roles
  • Working knowledge of employment law and employee relations best practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Preferred Experience: 

  • HR certification (SHRM or HRCI) preferred
  • Previous experience with Deltek VantagePoint

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
